Module attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data and undertakes to process it responsibly and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés).

This privacy policy explains how Module collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the www.bymodule.io website.

Browsing data

When you visit the site, and once you have accepted, certain technical data is collected automatically through Google Analytics 4:

  • IP address (anonymized)

  • Pages visited and length of visit
  • Referral source (the website you came from)
  • Approximate location data (country, city)
  • Screen resolution and device type

Contact data

When you use the contact form, Module collects:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Name of your company (optional)
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Your message and any information you choose to share

Purposes of processing

Module uses your personal data for the following purposes:

Audience measurement and site improvement

The browsing data collected through Google Analytics is used to:

  • Analyze traffic and visitor behavior
  • Improve the user experience and navigation
  • Optimize the content and features of the site
  • Identify and fix technical problems

Handling contact requests

The data collected through the contact form is used to:

  • Answer your questions and requests for information
  • Provide you with quotes and commercial proposals
  • Follow up on your request
  • Archive the exchanges as evidence

Legal basis for processing

The processing of your data relies on the following legal bases:

  • Consent for audience measurement and the improvement of the website: Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept
  • Performance of pre-contractual measures for handling your contact requests and preparing quotes
  • Legal obligation for keeping certain data for accounting and tax purposes

Data recipients

Your personal data may be passed on to the following categories of recipients:

  • Module: only Alex Dionisio, the company’s director, has access to your data, in the course of that role
  • Technical providers: Google (Google Analytics; Google Cloud, which hosts the contact form’s sending service in the European Union), GitHub (website hosting), Resend (delivery of the contact form emails: the notification Module receives and the confirmation sent to you)
  • Legal authorities: upon legal request and within the limits set by law

Module makes sure that its providers offer sufficient data protection guarantees and comply with the requirements of the GDPR.

Data transfers outside the EU

Some of these providers (in particular Google, GitHub and Resend) may transfer your data outside the European Union. These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards that comply with the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or participation in the Data Privacy Framework.

Retention periods

Module keeps your personal data for the following periods:

  • Browsing data (Analytics): 13 months at most from the date of collection
  • Contact data (form): 3 years from the last contact for prospects, or, for clients, for the duration of the business relationship and then 5 years in archive
  • Cookies: 13 months at most from the date they are set

At the end of these periods, your data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.

Data security

Module implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or unauthorized access:

  • Secure HTTPS connection (SSL/TLS)
  • Hosting on secure servers (GitHub Pages)
  • Restricted, authenticated access to data
  • Pseudonymization and anonymization where possible
  • Regular backups

Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: obtain confirmation that your data is being processed and receive a copy of it
  • Right to rectification: correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Right to erasure: request the deletion of your data in certain cases
  • Right to restriction of processing: request that the processing of your data be temporarily frozen
  • Right to object: object to the processing of your data on grounds relating to your particular situation
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Right to withdraw your consent: at any time, for processing based on consent
  • Right to set post-mortem instructions: decide what happens to your data after your death

Exercising your rights

To exercise your rights, you can write to Module by email at contact@bymodule.io, stating:

  • Your first name, last name and email address
  • The right you wish to exercise
  • A copy of your identity document if there is any doubt about your identity

Module undertakes to reply within one month of receiving your request. This period may be extended by two months if the request is complex or if there is a large number of requests.

If you believe that your rights are not being respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (the CNIL, the French data protection authority):

  • Legal basis: exemption from consent (preference requested by the visitor)

Managing your preferences
