Freelance Product Manager in Marseille

Product management support for founders and teams working without a product manager. I scope, prioritize and steer alongside you, for as long as an audit, a day or a feature takes.

This page describes freelance work for clients. I am not hiring.

When a freelance product manager makes sense

01

A product is launching with no product team

I pin down the need, the scope of the first version and the order in which to build, before the budget disappears into development.

02

Priorities shift every week

Developers are shipping, yet nobody makes the calls. I put a roadmap on the table and hold the line on trade-offs with you.

03

The product is live and falls short of what you expected

That calls for an audit: I go through the product and give you a written set of recommendations ranked by priority.

04

Your product manager is away or stretched thin

I take one feature end to end, from the initial need to specifications ready for development.

How an engagement unfolds

  1. 01A conversationThe product, the team, whatever is stuck. Face to face in Marseille or over video.
  2. 02A formatI recommend the audit, the day or the feature, and spell out what lands on your desk at the end.
  3. 03Work with your teamWorkshops at your offices, interviews with your users, mockups and trade-off decisions.
  4. 04A written deliverableA memo, a roadmap or specifications that your people can pick up and run with after I leave.
03 / 04

A product manager who also codes

Development is the other half of my work. The specifications I write factor in what each choice costs to build, so your engineers do not have to translate them.

And if there is no technical team on your side, I can build what was scoped.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a freelance product manager cost in Marseille?

Audit: €500 excl. VAT; Per day: €650 excl. VAT; Per feature: from €3,500 excl. VAT. Anything outside these three formats is quoted separately.

Product manager or product owner: what is the difference?

A product manager decides what gets built and why: user needs, priorities, the roadmap. A product owner, a role that comes out of Scrum, keeps the backlog and works with the developers day to day. Small teams often have one person doing both jobs, which is what I do on an engagement.

Are you recruiting product managers?

No. I am self-employed and work alone. What you are reading describes work I do for clients, not a job opening.

Do you work on site?

Yes. Travel costs you nothing anywhere in Bouches-du-Rhône, and teams located elsewhere in France or abroad work with me over video.

How long does an engagement last?

Audits and days are booked one at a time. For a feature, the length depends on its size and is written into the quote.
